Made in France. Perfect for Souffle or Creme Brulee/Caramele., November 22, 2008 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Revol Grands Classiques Souffle Dishes (Kitchen) It is increasingly difficult to find porcelains or ceramics (or any products for that matter) that aren't made in China. I try not to buy Chinese made goods if I can avoid it (especially goods used for cooking) and I absolutely will not buy any porcelain cooking products made in China for fear that they contain lead. Thankfully, these Revol ramekins are made in France. They are well made and are of the proper design for souffle - they are unglazed on the bottom, have fluted sides and have a slightly flared top. Although designated here as Souffle dishes, they are an ideal size (6 ounces) and the perfect shape for making Creme Caramele or Creme Brulee as well. Their size also allows them to serve as handy prep bowl or bowls for individual dipping sauces when making meat fondues. See uploaded pictures of them in use for creme caramel.
